To London and St.Petersburg

Ingrid Larssen has been awarded Nordland County's 2009 travel grant for professional artists. She is planning her study trip to London and St. Petersburg.

There were 20 applicants for this year's study grant, and Nordland County selected Larssen and three other artists as grant recipients in Nordland. In May she will go to London in order to experience the annual craft fair «Collect», which will be hosted this year by The Saatchi Gallery. – I am really looking forward to this. It will be a very inspirational journey, Larssen says. In addition to the two days at Europe's largest craft fair, Ingrid has a full agenda including visits to a number of exhibitions and museums. The time for her visit to St. Petersburg is not yet decided, but will be sometime during autumn. Ingrid Larssen is looking forward especially to finding new inspiration when she views the city's impressive collection of dresses and costumes. – I get inspired by things that most people perhaps don't see. What is the technique used in sewing that buttonhole? How did they create that lace collar?
